NEW LONDON NOTES: Nestor gives Memorial Day address Ellen Simmons Special to the Ashland Times-Gazette Mother Nature smiled on the village’s Memorial Day activities that began at the Legion Hall and ended in Memorial Park. American Legion 292 Commander Dave Smith welcomed the crowd to the ceremony and said, “Today, we meet to honor those who did so much to keep us free.” He then introduced Kevin Nestor who gave the day’s address. A 1975 New London High School and 1979 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Nestor served in the Army, the Ohio Army National Guard and the Army Reserve.
