The Caps go into Week 5 with games against Pennsylvania rivals wrapped around a two-game set in upstate New York

At first blush, the Washington Capitals might have a comparatively easy schedule ahead for Week 5. They wrap up their two-game set with the Philadelphia Flyers, a tough opponent, but then head to Buffalo to take on the Sabres, a team battling the effects of players sitting out due to COVID protocol and currently in last place in the East Division. The Caps wrap up the week with a visit to Pittsburgh to face a team that has only one win in regulation time this season.

The Seattle Kraken is set to become the National Hockey League’s 32nd team in the 2021–22 season.
Who will skate for Seattle? That will be decided at this summer’s Expansion Draft, an event at which 30 of the NHL’s 31 teams will lose a player to the Kraken.
All NHL teams with one exception must submit a list of players to the Kraken who are protected from being selected by the new expansion team. The Vegas Golden Knights, Seattle’s expansion sibling from 2017, are exempt from the upcoming Expansion Draft.
The NHL is again offering all participating teams two options for their protection lists. Teams can choose either of the following configurations:

The NHL announced today revisions to the Buffalo Sabres 2020-21 schedule. A dozen Sabres games now have new dates and times.
Here are the schedule changes:
Buffalo at N.Y. Islanders: From February 2, 2021 to February 22, 2021 at 7 p.m.
Buffalo at N.Y. Islanders: From February 4, 2021 to March 4, 2021 at 7 p.m.
Buffalo at Boston: From February 6, 2021 to March 27, 2021 at 1 p.m.
Buffalo at Boston: From February 8, 2021 to April 13, 2021 at 7 p.m.
Buffalo at New Jersey: From February 22, 2021 to February 23, 2021 at 7 p.m.
Philadelphia at Buffalo: From February 26, 2021 to February 27, 2021 at 1 p.m.
