The hungry and those in need of care and concern in Grey-Bruce Huron will benefit from $52,000 in donations from members of the Power Workersâ Union (PWU) at Tiverton.
The PWU Bruce funds will fill shelves at foods banks, support programs for women and children and boost mental health initiatives at 21 local organizations. The funding was recently approved by the PWU Bruce Site Equity Committee on behalf of the 2,600 PWU members at Bruce Power as part of their annual disbursements to local communities.

The Power Workers’ Union (PWU) has stepped up to the plate again and is sharing money with several groups in the Grey/Bruce/Huron area.
In a news release (MAY 4), the PWU announced it’s donating $52,000 to local food banks; women’s shelters and mental health initiatives.
The largest donations go to the Women’s Centre in Owen Sound; the Women’s House serving Bruce and Grey and Wes for Youth online with each organization receiving $5,000.
Here are the remaining recipients:
” Saugeen Shores Salvation Army Food Bank – $2,000
” Kincardine Food Bank – $2,000
” Tobermory Food Bank – $2,000
” Walkerton & District Food Bank – $2,000
