conspiracy theories, which are at the heart of western culture for literally centuries. all manner of conspiracy thinking now seems closer to the mainstream than it used to. you can watch people go down rabbit holes. it might be about drop foxes, or the case of kanye, you can just watch what sites he s reading. it s like, the you lose control the world. that now feels more proximate in the information environment we live in then perhaps it did previously. i think one of the things that we are seeing is the more conspiratorial a side is, the more susceptible it is. the more you are convinced that there is an invisible hand, as our society starts to lose its ideas of what is true, everyone has the alternate realities where they literally can t see eye to eye with each other, it becomes a lot easier for people to become conspiracy theorists and eventually to become antisemitic conspiracy
