The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Supreme Court challenging the Calcutta High Court s order which allowed the house arrest of four Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders, who are accused in the Narada case. The probe agency, CBI, in its appeal, filed before the Apex Court, sought deferment of the larger Bench hearing, fixed for today before the five-Judge Bench of the Calcutta High Court. The Calcutta High Court, in its order recently on May 21, had allowed four TMC leaders, including two sitting ministers, accused in the Narada case, to be granted bail, and to be kept under house arrest.

Kolkata: TMC leader Madan Mitra comes out of the CBI office, Nizam Palace
Trinamool Congress MLA Madan Mitra and former party leader Sovan Chatterjee, who was arrested by the CBI in the Narada sting case, were admitted to a hospital here early on Tuesday after their health condition deteriorated in a correctional home, an official said.
They were taken to the state-run SSKM Hospital as both the politicians complained of breathlessness, he said. The central agency had also apprehended two senior West Bengal ministers Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee in connection with the case, and all four were taken to Presidency Correctional Home in Kolkata late on Monday night.
