Last month the 30 year old launched her new business, Fraction Finance, an asset finance brokerage. Centelle lived in Bajool until she was 10 and then moved to England before coming back to Australia and moving to Townsville where she finished her schooling. She was working in building design and moved to Brisbane, but when the building downturn hit she found a new job at a car dealership. Centelle quickly learnt she hated selling cars, but liked the customers service side of things and paperwork and after a year she asked to be transferred to the finance department.

Direct flight from Rocky to Uluru in unique new deal

Premium Content Travellers can fly direct from Rockhampton to the Red Centre next month. Travel Associates Rockhampton is the first travel company to operate charter flights direct from the Beef Capital to Uluru. They are being offered as part of an Uluru weekend getaway. Owner Debbie Rains said COVID and the subsequent closing of domestic and international borders meant the company had to “look outside the box” to create travel opportunities for its clients. “People are keen to start travelling again, albeit fairly close to home and to other COVID-safe locations which is why we have put together a fully inclusive weekend flying direct from Rockhampton to Uluru, meaning you do not need to travel through another city,” she said.

Owner reveals cost of relocating Kern Arcade business

Premium Content Subscriber only Hairdresser Sally Johnson says relocating from the Kern Arcade has her “out of pocket to the tune of $50,000”. The owner of Downtown Diva has decided to open a home salon at Gracemere after it was revealed the arcade would close at the end of January. The Cooper family, who owns the arcade, has since announced it would be put on the market early this year. Ms Johnson has operated there for about five years. “When you don’t know what’s going on, you’re not going to put your family’s livelihood on the line for it to all fall apart,” she said.

Lease awarded to food outlet at Rockhampton Airport

Premium Content Subscriber only Australian company Cater Care has been awarded the tender for the new retail, cafe and bar premises at the Rockhampton Airport, with a fit-out expected to commence soon. Tenders for the fit-out at the 2 Brothers cafe, located at the airport, were online this week with a project budget of $250,000 to $500,000. Trades included tiling, painting, metalwork, ceilings, electrical services and waterproofing. It was previously reported from council documents that a fit-out was expected to take six weeks. Cater Care provides catering and facilities to retirement and aged cares, business, government, health, education and mining sites and they also operate quick service restaurants, cafes, bars and grab ‘n’ go outlets, specialising in airports and shopping centres.
