BBB leader Caroline van der Plas will report D66 parliamentarian Tjeerd De Groot to the Tweede Kamer’s confidential counselor after their latest clash on Thursday evening, she said before entering Cabinet formation talks on Friday. On Thursday, she walked out of a parliamentary debate after an altercation with De Groot.
The Tweede Kamer will meet unexpectedly on Saturday to decide on a possible recount of the votes cast in the parliamentary elections. The reason for this is "inexplicable counting discrepancies" in four polling stations in Tilburg. The difference in the count is more than 15 votes. This has never happened before in the recent history of parliament, according to NOS. There will therefore be no total recount of all votes cast in the elections, reports VVD MP Ulysse Ellian on X. He is chairman of the Committee for the Verification of Credentials.
The recount of the votes from four polling stations in Tilburg started on Saturday afternoon. This concerns polling stations 9, 15, 21 and 31 in Tilburg, NU.nl reported. The recount takes place under the watchful eye of a delegation from the Tweede Kamer and is expected to last until 3 p.m. The recount concerns approximately 6,000 votes that needed to be reconsidered.
