A BARGAIN store is set to open in Chard this summer. Home Bargains have recently started advertising for jobs such as store supervisors, assistants and cleaner on the new Chard site. A spokesperson from Home Bargains said they are delighted to announce the new store opening. “Our Chard is due to open in early summer, the said. As such, we will soon be recruiting for store supervisors, store assistants and store cleaners, and would encourage those interested to keep an eye on our careers website (jobs.homebargains.co.uk) for roles being advertised.” We do not yet have confirmation of where the new store will be, but according to the jobs advertised, the new store is set to open on Boden Street.
PLANS have been lodged to convert a shop unit which has been disused for “too long” into a supermarket. TJ Morris Limited, the owner of Home Bargains, have submitted a proposal to redevelop the old Comet site at Derwent Retail Park in Workington. It is the second major development set to take place at the shopping precinct as Aldi are in the process of refurbishing their site. Shopper Mike Webb said that it is exciting news for the area, as the unit has been out of use for “too long.” He said: “That would be great. It’s been closed for two and a half years now.”
