DEFIANCE â Bryan dominated the fourth quarter against Paulding in the Grube Family Holiday Classic, and it turned into a victory.
The Golden Bears scored 22 points in the final frame, while going 6 of 8 from the field â including one 3-pointer â and 9 for 12 at the free-throw line, to post a 48-42 nonleague boys basketball win over the Panthers in day one of the tournament at Defiance High School.
Bryan (2-4) will face Wauseon (5-1) in the championship game at approximately 8 p.m. today at Defiance High School. Paulding (4-4) will play Tinora (1-1) beforehand at approximately 6 p.m in the consolation game. The Indians beat the Rams 46-29 in Mondayâs nightcap.
Bryan senior Titus Rohrer is an all-Ohioan.
The Golden Bearsâ wide receiver earned honorable mention recognition as the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association released its all-Ohio selections in Division IV and V.
Rohrer (6-foot-6, 248 pounds) recorded 33 receptions for 454 yards and seven touchdowns for the Golden Bears, who finished 6-4 overall and recorded their first playoff win since 2013 after beating Lorain Clearview in the opening round of the Division IV, Region 14 playoffs.
