Saginaw-area police officer dies of COVID-19 complications

SAGINAW TWP, MI A part-time officer with two Saginaw County police departments has died from COVID-19 complications.
The Saginaw Township Police Department announced the morning of Friday, May 7, that Officer Michael Andrews had recently died from coronavirus complications. In addition to being a current officer with that department, Andrews also was working as a part-time officer with the Tittabawassee Township Police Department.
Andrews died Tuesday, May 4, at a hospital, according to Saginaw Township Police Chief Donald F. Pussehl Jr.
“Officer Michael Andrews dedicated his life to the law enforcement profession and served various communities for 40-plus years,” the Saginaw Township Police Department stated on its Facebook page. “It was an honor to have him as part of the STPD Family. He will be greatly missed.”
