After almost thirty years teaching the children of Wigton, the much-loved, Mrs Brenda Fyrth has decided to retire at the end of the year. After the country has been wading its way through the Covid-19 pandemic it has give the head teacher time to think about her future. She said: After more than 40 years of working in the teaching profession, I have taken the decision to retire. This has not been an easy decision to make. The current pandemic has provided me with the time to contemplate my future, outside of education, and I look forward to having the time to follow other interests in the future. I intend to stay in post until December 31, which allows sufficient time for the Governors of Thomlinson Junior School to recruit my successor.
