Eagles’ Kevon Seymour completes his journey from ‘rock bottom’ back to the NFL

PHILADELPHIA Kevon Seymour hadn’t appeared in an NFL game in more than a year, and his football career had been derailed by a double shoulder surgery, a hamstring injury and then wrist surgery. He was a free agent. He wasn’t on a practice squad. He got gym memberships to Planet Fitness and LA Fitness, and he took a job at Wheel & Tire Exchange in Charlotte, North Carolina, to help provide for his wife and their three children.

Eagles cornerback Kevon Seymour says he has already seen rock bottom. He grew up in project housing, was out of football for an extended time, and was even a tire salesman. Now, Seymour finds himself a cornerback on the Eagles’ active roster.
Seymour, who was signed to the Eagles’ practice squad Dec. 2 and elevated to the active roster Dec. 12, told the story of his journey to Philadelphia Thursday.
