Erie County
Lake Erie Walleye fishing is on fire right now in 50 – 80 foot of water. Walleye can be found from the Ohio Line all the way to North East. Please check your lines often because the lake is full of sub-legal Walleye and sometimes, they don’t trip the rods. Anglers are catching Smallmouth Bass in 20 – 40 foot of water.

Area Steelhead Streams Steelhead continue to push upstream when conditions allow. Anglers are catching Steelhead throughout all the tributary streams using minnows, sucker spawn, and natural colored wooly buggers when fishing low water conditions. Egg sacks and flashy egg patterns are popular when the water is stained or muddy.
Rachel caught her first Steelhead over the weekend while fishing a section of upper Elk Creek! Rachel attended the Women’s Intro to Steelhead program in November and has been trying to catch one ever since! Congrats, Rachel!
