Roel Degamo on Thursday ordered the work stoppage at the Capitol beginning noon amid the threat of Typhoon Odette that has begun to bring heavy rains and strong winds in the province. In an advisory issued through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and posted on social media, Degamo said the suspension of work is "to prevent loss of life or bodily harm (and) ensuring the safety of all". However, government offices/agencies whose functions involve law enforcement, response action to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall make available stand-by services/arrangements, he said.
