Meredosia schools hope to spark a new interest in sports

The Meredosia-Chambersburg school board is looking at ways to convince more students to participate in sports.
Kirk Graham, who handles student services for the district and also is a math teacher at the junior-senior high school addressed the board, sharing a report on athletes.
It is important to get students interested in sports, he said, explaining that extracurricular activities can help with students’ academics.
Suggestions offered by those attending the meeting included:
• getting coaches involved in promoting sports;
• having someone from a university or an important sports figure speak to the students; and
