Home of Oklahoma nurse providing care for COVID patients burns down
A frontline worker battling the COVID-19 scourge was struck by calamity at home.
Oklahoma City ICU nurse Tina Irwin, who has been assisting coronavirus patients, is coping with the aftermath of a blazing fire that gutted her house, reported Oklahoma TV station KOCO.
The Mercy Hospital employee claimed she had been on duty for 12 hours on Tuesday when she received a phone call from a neighbor that her home was ablaze.
Adding to her heightened panic was the knowledge that three of her four children were at home.
“I got a hold of my daughter . . . the terrifying scream. Never heard a scream like this,” Irwin explained.
