The San Gennaro Festival AKA the Feast of San Gennaro is a celebration of the Patron Saint of Naples and Little Italy, Saint Januarius. The Catholic Calendar date for the feast is September 19th but the cultural festival will be celebrated in Danbury this year between Wednesday September 7th and Sunday September 11th.
The Italian Festival or Feast of San Gennaro is so close, that the city has begun to hang the lights already. These lights are synonymous with this event, and I'm told these are the official lights that have been hung in Little Italy for so many years.
