On the flip side, the number of active cases continued to decline as recoveries outpaced new cases. Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah reported a total of 3,414 new recoveries today. The number of patients in the intensive care unit is also at the lowest level since Jan 14. In a statement, he said 14 of them involved workplaces, FMT reported. ADVERTISEMENT Selangor and Johor reported five clusters each, while two were detected in Sabah, and one each in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Pahang, Terengganu, and Perak. The 17 new clusters are: Selangor: Jalan Bukit Kemuning – a workplace cluster in Klang. The first few cases tested positive today after a targeted screening of employees at a services company in Shah Alam. Some 147 people were screened, 55 of whom tested positive.

KPDNHEP seizes over 5,000 kg of wheat flour from wholesaler’s premises 19 Jan 2021 / 18:44 H. GEORGE TOWN: The Penang branch of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) seized over 5,000 kilograms (kg) of wheat flour from a wholesaler during an operation at a premises, yesterday. KPDNHEP Timur Laut district enforcement chief Ahmad Ahrazzuddin Ahmad Hamdan said the wholesaler is suspected of hoarding the controlled item in excess of the amount permitted. “The wheat flour found at the premises weighed 12 tonnes. Wholesalers are only allowed to store as much as seven tonnes of wheat flour at a time,“ he said today. According to him, the wholesaler claimed that the surplus was in preparation of the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.
