SAIPAN, CNMI (Marianas Variety, May 2) – The power went out for about three hours yesterday in different villages on Saipan, the fourth unannounced blackout since April 25.
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s trouble desk said the power supply was cut off in feeders 2, 3, 4 and 7 shortly before noon due to an emergency situation at power plant 1, the main source of electricity on island.
The power was restored around 3 p.m. in Garapan and nearby areas.
The affected feeders distribute power to Gualo Rai, Garapan, Chalan Laulau, Chinatown, Tanapag, San Roque, Achugao, As Matuis, San Jose and Marpi .
