No surprise: Their research finds students value success above all
I wish I were surprised about the article âCheating accusations shake medical students: Dartmouth says itâs upholding code; others see rush to judgmentâ (Page A1, April 16).
Based on more than 20 years of research into how individuals think about responsibilities in their work, we at The Good Project at the Harvard Graduate School of Education know that at a young age, students value personal success above anything else. Even though high school students confront ethical dilemmas taking a test or editing a newspaper, they are often focused on what is good for âI,â not âwe.â
