Home prices continued surging to new highs in April, with the median price of a Massachusetts single-family home topping the half-million-dollar mark for the first time ever, according to real estate analytics firm
The median price of a Bay State single-family home was $508,000 in April (meaning half of all houses statewide that sold went for more than $508,000, and half went for less). That represents an 18.1 percent increase from a year ago and an astonishing 32.6 percent jump over April 2019, when the median-priced Massachusetts single-family home sold for $383,000.
Led by continued gains in Fairfield County, the number of single-family homes sold across Connecticut in the typically slower month of February reached a 16-year high for that period.
That’s according to Massachusetts-based real estate publisher and data tracker The Warren Group, which said in a report Thursday that 2,200 Connecticut homes sold during February, up 24.8% from 1,763 transactions in Feb. 2020, which was the final full month before COVID-19 was first detected in Connecticut.
The statewide median sale price was $300,000 in February, up nearly 23% from its Feb. 2020 level of $245,000, and a record for any February on record.
Connecticut’s median price for the month of January and for full-year 2020 was also $300,000, according to Warren Group, which is the highest figure on record for the state.

The U.S. claimed that chiropractor, nurse practitioner, and manager Suhyun An, acting through Johnson Medical Group PLLC and Campbell Medical Group PLLC, knowingly used the incorrect billing code for percutaneous electrical stimulation devices, commonly known as p-stim devices, used to treat patients at Campbell Medical Clinic. Allegedly, defendant An used billing code L8679, which is a “very expensive code” meant for implantable neurostimulators, according to the complaint.
