Governor rick scott is still looking at the Supreme Courts drastically change floridas Death Penalty system. The ruling came down from the court at the start of the 2016 legislative session saying juries, not judges, should decide whether a defendant should be executed. Attorney general pam bondi says shell work with lawmakers to make the courtrequired changes. But says the impact on existing death sentences will need to be evaluated on a case by case basis.
