A 60-year-old Salisbury man suffered serious injuries in a traffic crash in Chariton County on Wednesday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a northbound vehicle, driven by Leland Linneman, attempted to stop at a railroad crossing, but his vehicle slid into the path of and was struck by a Norfolk Southern Locomotive, driven by 50-year-old Timmy Morgan, of Moberly. The crossing did not have an electronic signal.
While Morgan was not injured, Linneman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Chariton County ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
