The City of Timmins will receive $596,622 in additional provincial funding through the 2021 COVID-19 Recovery Funding for Municipalities program.
The funds are designed to assist with COVID-19 operating costs required to address the continuing pandemic into 2021.

“This funding is imperative to help ensure delivery of critical services as we continue to address COVID-19 concerns,” said Timmins Mayor George Pirie.
“It will also be used to keep capital projects that are a priority on track and lessen the impact of the pandemic on city operations. I would like to thank Minister (Steve) Clark of Municipal Affairs and Housing on behalf of the Government of Ontario for listening to our concerns at the local level and responding to our needs.”
