A Walden alderwoman said a lawsuit filed against her this year and now dropped by a landowner interested in a potential grocery store project was an effort to intimidate her to change her vote or resign.
Walden officials, by a 2 to 1 vote, on Tuesday called for capping the size of commercial buildings in a possible future town center at 15,000 square feet, or about half the size of a grocery store a developer is proposing.
The battle in Walden over a supermarket isn t finished, said a member of a citizens group that successfully fought an earlier proposal for a grocery store in the town.
Walden officials appear near a vote that could clear a path for a new grocery store as part of a planned multimillion-dollar town center and potentially end years of tension over such a project.
