SHAEDâs career launched with their hit single âTrampoline,â so itâs fitting that their debut record would also center around a similar metaphor.
The album, titled
Chelsea Lee and multi-instrumentalist brothers
Spencer and
Max Ernst â taking a âleap of faithâ into the unknown. As the group tells ABC Audio, they had a full album âcompletedâ before deciding to scrap it and start anew.
âWe had this collective realization that none of those songs were really true to who we were and what we wanted to communicate to our fans, and they werenât true to our story,â Max says. âWe had this tough decision that we made to scrap the entire album.â

High Dive,
The trio â made up of vocalist
Chelsea Lee and multi-instrumentalist brothers
Spencer and
Max Ernst â first released their breakout single in 2018. Three years later, âTrampolineâ will appear on
High Dive, SHAEDâs debut full-length record.
âI feel like that song, because it had such a tremendous reach, itâs a song that â still â that we love,â Max tells ABC Audio. âIt gave us a sort of launching point into this new album.â
Specifically, SHAED decided to include the duet version of âTrampoline,â which features ex-
One Direction member
ZAYN.
âIt just kind of felt natural to include it in this album,â Lee says. âEspecially the ZAYN version, âcause thatâs just such an interesting take on that song, too.â
