He received his degree from Dartmouth College in 1963 and did graduate studies at georgetown university. He helped organize the Carter Campaign for the Iowa Caucuses before going on to organize for carter in other key nominating states. In 1979, the white house announced that kraft was leaving to join the Campaign Committee as Campaign Manager.
