Well maureen talking about the temperatures, it certainly feels a lot colder now than it did maybe an hour or two ago and this was the rush hour. A lot of people are concerned about, but its not prooufb to be any problems. This is route 7 in leesburg. Very busy road. Its been clear for most of the day. This cold and the snow really the pavement not cold enough for it to stick. Its been warm on the roads so things not sticking. Not creating a lot of slipping and sliding. Certainly good news. All over leesburg though and all over the place, we saw trucks out there getting a good workout. Certainly happy about getting that work after somewhat slow winter time. Drivers were taking it easy and driving with caution. That was good news. Vdot had 800 plows treating and salting the roads across Northern Virginia. Did seem like they were all over the place. Drivers we spoke with said that the roads seemed fine but they were hoping for a smooth rush hour. A little skittish maybe, yeah. I think its because its whiting out a little bit for people. Other than, that the roads are fine. I think everybodys driving, you know sensibly. Just starting to get wet mostly. But temperature keeps dropping. Well have problems. Thats a concern for some of the drivers if the temperature drops. This snow has been the hard, wet packed snow. Good for making snowballs and im sure thats what a lot of kids were doing out here. As you can see, the snow now has gone away. You can see here we had a crew out here earlier today from abc 7 that did get some of the video to people that are out and also the snow that was coming down. Now, there were some people who did say that there were times when the roads werent that good. Heres what one woman had to say that we spoke with. A lot of the side roads are not really plowed yet. But i know they have to make that call a lot earlier in the day. Yeah, i was kind of expecting them to be let out early. As we were driving here 270 north and on 495 north as we were coming into frederick, there were a lot of trucks that were out. Trucks are mostly under overpasses, they were off to the side of the road and they werent doing much work at all. Probably because theyre waiting for the temperatures to drop. As we heard just a few minutes ago, it is 34 degrees here in frederick. The roads are wet. But as that temperature starts to fall thats when the problems could really start oc
