(CNN) After months of speculation and anticipation, Appleâs AirTag trackers are finally here at a relatively affordable $29 for a single AirTag or $99 for a pack of four. We spent a week with five AirTags during what turned out to be an extra clumsy testing adventure. Overall, the tagsâ integration within Appleâs Find My network delivers a wide coverage map, and their location accuracy is impressive. Combined with turn-by-turn directions to lost items, this makes them highly valuable for Apple users that misplace their belongings. Just be prepared to

AirTag is Apple s newest product line, a small round disc used to track items using the Find My app. Yet Apple is not the first to offer item trackers of this kind. Tile has been making Bluetooth item trackers for almost a decade and is now AirTag s main competitor.

You ll never lose something in the couch again. Apple s AirTag ($29) leverages tight iOS integration and the world s huge network of iOS devices to create Bluetooth trackers that are uncommonly easy to set up, use, and locate especially compared with Tile, the current giant of the industry. Never Lose Anything Again
There s a decent industry out there of trackers for people, vehicles, and stuff. Samsung has the SmartTag and SmartTag+ for owners of Samsung phones and tablets. For iPhone and iPad users, the AirTag really competes against one giant of the industry, Tile, which has made its entire brand on low-cost Bluetooth trackers that let you beep them when you lose your keys.

Let s start with the obvious points: Apple AirTag works with Find My, which is only on Apple devices. Samsung Galaxy SmartTag works with SmartThings Find, which is only on Samsung Galaxy devices.
Both these trackers work within a walled garden: only Apple devices will locate the AirTag, only Samsung Galaxy devices will locate the SmartTag. Both of these networks are potentially huge as they are market leaders in smartphone sales - but there s a catch for Samsung.
Pocket-lint
Apple requires you to use an Apple ID for your iPhone (meaning there s potential for all iPhones to find an AirTag), but Samsung doesn t require the use of a Samsung Account on a Galaxy device.
