Hartford Jewish Film Festival, all virtual, brings back and adds to unseen 2020 slate

The 25th annual Mandell JCC Hartford Jewish Film Festival has gone all virtual, running from Feb. 28 to April 2. If the lineup looks the same as last year’s festival, that’s because to a great degree it is. In 2020 the fest was supposed to run from March 5 to 15. But on March 12, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the fest came to a sudden stop.

The documentary film-maker Maya Zinshtein unpacks the fascinating story of evangelical pastors in Kentucky who support Donald Trump. They do so by raising vast amounts of money to send to Israel, influencing Middle Eastern politics under the guise of religious support for the return of the Messiah.
