Not two weeks after TikTok’s highly anticipated “Ratatouille” musical premiered, the Actors Fund has announced that the homegrown virtual show raised a whopping $2 million in ticket sales for COVID-19 relief.
“We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who joined the @ratatousical family & shared their support for our work helping those in need in the #PerformingArts!” the Actors Fund posted Tuesday on Twitter. “Look what we were able to do, together!”
The organization, which has ramped up its aid for the entertainment community after theaters went dark amid the pandemic, also revealed that the production drew approximately 350,000 viewers over its 72-hour run “and one encore” performance on TodayTix. Tickets for the charitable event started at $5.

Following a $1 million opening, the fundraiser continued with an encore performance on Jan. 10.

Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical has raised a record-breaking total of $2 million to benefit The Actors Fund, making it the most successful fundraiser in the organization’s history.
In its opening weekend, the musical initially raised $1 million in ticket sales for The Actors Fund, with over 200,000 tickets sold. An encore performance took place on Jan. 10, in which 150,000 viewers tuned in.

Music theatre alumnus JJ Niemann ’17 performs in “Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical” a crowdsourced musical based on the Disney film “Ratatouille” which has already raised $1.9 million to benefit artists struggling during the pandemic.
An encore of the show streams on TikTok at 8 p.m. Thursday night on the @ratatousical account. The stream is free but donations are encouraged. The show premiered on New Year’s Day and ran for 72 hours on TodayTix.com.
