Driver killed, two injured in crash at San Ysidro Port of Entry and last updated 2020-12-23 02:18:28-05 SAN YSIDRO (CNS) - A speeding Orange County driver attempting the enter the country was killed after his car struck a man and woman and crashed into a metal barrier at the San Ysidro Port of Entry today. The crash occurred about 2:14 p.m. in a lane that was closed to traffic, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Salvador Castro. A gray Hyundai sedan driven by a 27-year-old man from Santa Ana was attempting to cross into the United States, Castro said. The Hyundai was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a metal swing arm barricade.

An American driver ran over two pedestrians before slamming into a metal barrier on the U.S.-Mexican border, fatally injuring himself, while speeding from Tijuana, Mexico to San Diego, California. The unnamed 27-year-old Santa Ana, California man driving a gray sedan reportedly died instantly after striking a metal barrier at the San Ysidro Port of Entry around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday. He hit two street vendors situated on the Mexican side of the border along the way, identified as a 70-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman who was using a wheelchair.
