Kano Govt starts recruitment process for 56 medical doctors

The Kano State Government has commenced steps for the recruitment of 56 medical doctors with the conduct of aptitude tests for applicants shortlisted.
The state said that this would enhance the performances of its Primary Healthcare Sector.
This is contained in a statement signed on Tuesday by Mr Maikudi Marafa, the Public Relations Officer of the state Primary Health Care Management Board .
”The Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Tijjani Hussain, urges the candidates to prepare for challenges.”
Marafa quoted Hussain as saying that successful candidates would be trained in: leadership, Data Management as well as in the various Primary Healthcare activities.

The Kano State COVID-19 taskforce technical Committee, has introduced a Home-based care program to reach people in remote areas, as part of efforts to curtail the spread of the pandemic.
A statement from the state Primary Health Care Management Board signed by its Information Officer Mr Maikudi Marafa, made the disclosure on Saturday.
It said that the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Tsanyawa, who launched the program on Saturday, said that it was necessary to curtail the second wave of the pandemic.
The Commissioner stressed that health personnel had been trained and provided with motorcycles and medications to reach hard to reach areas, with a view to render home care health emergency services.

Following a surge in the number of COVID-19 infection in Kano State, the state government has inaugurated special marshals numbering over 1,000.
The marshals according to the government were selected from the state’s various health institutions, security agencies, student representatives, and members of the communities to ensure enforcement of the COVID-19 protocols across the state.
The marshalls will also address issues of hygiene and will work closely with health personnel in the State.
The state governor Abdullahi Ganduje in his address at the event held over the weekend in the state said he believed that unless a completely new approach is adopted, Kano State may be at the risk of going back to the drawing board in handling the virus.
