The Missouri Tigers were dealt a huge reality check the last time these two met. Tennessee looked the far superior team, and the Tigers were overmatched from the tip. If the Tigers want to keep their hopes of a conference championship up, this game is a must-win. Will Cuonzo Martin get his team adjusted, or will Tennessee remind the conference just how good they can play?

Tilmon’s involvement is the key to polishing off this big road victory
If Mizzou gets three happy and start shooting too many, that will be the reason they lose this game. They need to continue attacking and dish it to Tilly or a shooter. Pull up threes are not the right offense for this team.

END OF THE GAME: Missouri hung on to win 81-68. The difference maker was clear an it’s name is Jeremiah Tilmon. Tilmon had a double double and a career-high 25 points. Tilmon’s play was complimented nicely by 23 points from Xavier Pinson. Despite a cluster of turnovers, the Tigers managed to hang on and get a big road win, their first conference victory.

Mizzou polished a stellar non-conference slate with an unblemished record after coming back to beat Bradley. Tonight, they open SEC play with the favorites to win the conference Tennessee. Both teams have big aspirations for this season, and only one of them will leave Norm Stewart court still undefeated. Will it be the Tigers or the Volunteers?

The Tigers really needed to come out of the half and go on a run. Instead, they let Tennessee add to their lead, and that might be the nail in their coffin.
