London, May 29 (IANS) An 18th-century gun made for Mysuru ruler Tipu Sultan and valued at 2 million pounds has had its export barred to allow time for a buyer to come forward to keep it in the UK for public study and education.
Tipu Sultan's bedchamber sword was sold for 14 million pounds (Rs 140 crore) at an auction in London. The sale was organised by the auction house, Bonhams, on Tuesday. As per the Bonhams, the sword was sold at seven times the estimated price. Notably, the estimated price was between 1.5 -2 million pounds., India News, Times Now
