El aniversario de un mito que sobrevive en el recuerdo. José Manuel Fuente, el Tarangu , fue el mejor ciclista asturiano de todos los tiempos. Nadie lo pone en duda. Hoy se cumple un cuarto de siglo de su fallecimiento. Apenas contaba con cincuenta años cuando nos dejó por una grave enfermedad de riñón. Su corazón dejó de latir a primera hora de la tarde de un 18 de julio de 1996 en el Hospital Central de Asturias.
Harapan melihat Harimau Malaya terus wujud

SEJAK dahulu, harimau menjadi lambang kebanggaan Malaysia. Haiwan yang menggambarkan simbol keberanian dan kekuasaan itu tertera pada Jata Negara, malah pasukan bola sepak negara juga dikenali sebagai Harimau Malaya.
Daripada sembilan spesies harimau, hanya enam yang masih wujud di 13 negara di dunia. Harimau Malaya atau nama saintifiknya panthera tuhris jacksoni hanya boleh didapati di Semenanjung Malaysia.
Walaupun kira-kira 3,000 ekor harimau masih wujud di seluruh dunia, namun timbul kebimbangan Harimau Malaya yang sinonim dengan Malaysia akan pupus seperti tiga spesies lain iaitu Harimau Bali, Jawa dan Kaspia.
Dianggarkan sekitar 250 hingga 300 ekor sahaja Harimau Malaya liar masih wujud ketika ini, atau mungkin kurang daripada itu berbanding sebanyak 3,000 ekor sekitar tahun 1950-an.
