Sheriff: Race led to fatal Route 332 crash in Canandaigua Inexcusable.
That was the one word Ontario County Sheriff Kevin Henderson had to describe his thoughts around the four-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Route 332 and Airport Road in Canandaigua.
According to official reports, the incident was first noticed by Ontario County Sheriff s Deputy Dana Egburtson, who recorded two vehicles speeding south. Egburtson pulled into traffic to stop the car, but readjusted once the lead car – a gray 2008 Ford Fusion – hit the rear of a tractor-trailer that was turning left. The second speeding car, a white 2014 Mercedes, then struck the rear of the Ford Fusion.
