(WDAM) - Tuesday morning, Laurel Mayor Johnny Magee hosted guests from The Arc of the Pine Belt at city hall to sign a proclamation making March Intellectual Disabilities Month. The Arc of the Pine Belt is an organization that helps those with intellectual disabilities become accustomed to normal life, helping them find employment, education and more. Throughout the United States, ARC has more than 1,200 state and local chapters and more than 140,000 members.
