The Ross County Commissioners gave their blessing to turning Paint Street in front of the Courthouse into a beach late August. The program manager for Downtown Chillicothe Inc., Tiffany Baldwin, explained their big plan for the Sand in the Streets Volleyball Tournament, August 28th.
The COVA volleyball association has guided the design, with two competitive courts and one recreational court - though the recreational list is filled now.
The plan has also been run past the city. Downtown Chillicothe Inc. hopes for it to become an annual event, and it will be a major fundraiser this year. Then, in September will be their Octoberfest event.

With the recent move from West Water Street to a former dance studio on North Paint Street and because of the noticeable increase in square footage Beers believes the new location will allow customers to feel the full effect of the zany candy store. What makes a small business successful is the support of the fans. Chillicothe just gets it, said Beers, who owns 10 other Grandpa Joe s locations across Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The Chillicothe-Ross Chamber of Commerce has announced that the annual Community Forecast Breakfast will be going virtual this year because of the ongoing Coronavirus restrictions. The virtual event will take place at 9am on Friday, February 19th.
The event sees community and business leaders come together to reflect on the year past, and plan for the year to come.
Three speakers are lined up: Greater Chillicothe & Ross County Development Director Tammy Eallonardo; Downtown Chillicothe Project Manager Tiffany Baldwin; and new Ross County Health Commissioner, Garrett Guillozet.
The Community Forecast Breakfast is free to attend but donations will be accepted. Registration is required, through chillicotheohio.com.
