A huge air and sea search involving five countries, and including the royal navy, is under way to try and locate an argentine submarine. The sanjuan has been missing since wednesday, with 44 crew on board. Contact was lost as it returned from a routine mission near the southernmost tip of south america, but there are now signals being detected which may provide clues as to its location. Dan johnson reports. This is a vessel designed to play hide and seek in the deepest depths, so finding the sanjuan, its crew and the 22 torpedoes it carries is a real challenge. Fresh satellite signals, albeit weak ones, have revived hopes of rescue. They need to check and pinpoint the location.
