Rep queries NLNG moves to cancel N4 5 billion Bonny school project

Farah Dagogo, has queried the justification of the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas, NLNG, to cancel the N4.5 billion Model School project in Bonny Island, Rivers State. In a statement on Wednesday by the lawmaker’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ibrahim Lawal said, the NLNG had signed an agreement guaranteeing funding which was estimated at N4.5 billion. According to the Lawmaker, the tripartite agreement reached among NLNG, the Rivers State Government and Tianjin Energy Resources Limited is also threatened and may be breached.

Punch Newspapers Sections Leke Baiyewu, Abuja The member representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency of River State in the House of Representatives, Mr Farah Dagogo, has faulted the reason cited by the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Limited for cancelling a model school project in Bonny Island, Rivers State. The NLNG had in April 2015 co-signed a deal with the Rivers State government and Tianjin Energy Resources Limited to spend N4.5bn on the development of the school. By the tripartite agreement, NLNG’s funding would be phased, based on construction milestones of building and equipping the new school. The agreement was to provide the guiding framework for building infrastructure necessary to deliver quality education at the school.
