tonight, two breaking news stories in the district. two police cars collided injuring several officers. in prince georges county, they evacuated the emergency room at a hospital when workers and patients were overcome by a strange odor. good evening. first, to that situation at southern maryland hospital in clinton, maryland. patients were moved out of the emergency room while hazmat teams moved in. craig melvin is live at the scene with an update. reporter: the storm odor has disappeared from the hospital center here. the last of the hazmat crew disappeared 20 minutes ago. as you can see behind me, pretty much clear at the hospital. take a look at the video we shot from chopper 4 earlier this evening. shortly after 8:00, prince georges county fire and ems came to the hospital. at one point roughly three dozen fire, emergency and hazmat crews were on the scene here. initially the worry was it might be a natural gas leak. i talked to the ceo of the hospital a short time

dominique strauss-kahn, the head of the international monetary fund or imf faced charges of attempted rape, sex abuse and several other criminal counts. strauss-kahn is accused of assaulting a hotel maid inside this suite at this manhattan hotel over the weekend. restrained a hotel employee inside of his room. he sexually assaulted her and attempted to forcibly rape her. prosecutors presented enough evidence. she denied bail and ordered him to remain in jail. when i hear that your client was at jfk airport about to board a flight, that raises some concern. reporter: investigators say the maid reported strauss-kahn sexually assaulted her twice in the suite after he emerged from the shower naked. defense attorneys maintain their client is innocent. i would ask all of you to please allow him the presumption of innocence so we can hopefully still get a fair trial. reporter: investigators say the maid picked strauss-kahn out of a lineup and police recovered potential e
