Staff Writer memara@fortfrances.com The rezoning request submitted by the Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board (RRDSSAB) to change St. Michael’s zoning from Institutional Type One (I) to Residential Type Two (R2) is making an appearance on tonight’s council agenda. This comes after a public meeting was held two weeks ago where some members of the public had the chance to express either their support of or opposition to the development request. If council approves the rezoning request tonight, the property on which the former St. Michael’s school was located will be renovated to 13 housing units for seniors, with the inclusion of an EarlyON nursery.

We ordered each restaurant’s original cheeseburger and ranked which one we thought was the best.  Number 4. Good Stuff Eatery’s ‘Farmhouse Cheese’ burger ($7.50) This burger is a messy delight. Good Stuff Eatery is generous with its toppings, which include its signature “Good Stuff” sauce and a mess of gooey American cheese.

They’ve had to lay off workers before the holidays and face a drastic drop in revenue with take-out orders only. Thunder Bar has been able to accommodate outdoor dining by using a fire pit as well as outdoor heaters and look forward to once again offering indoor dining. “On Wednesday when Mr. Walz announced it, we were very excited. We were excited because we miss our customers and our employees. We just miss having people in here and showing them a good time.”
