Forbes, Rhoden and Stona Named ACC Performers of the Week

CLEMSON, S.C. – Three Tigers were recognized as ACC Performers of the Week for their impressive marks set at this past weekend’s Orange & Purple Elite Meet, the conference announced Tuesday. Tarees Rhoden was honored as the men’s track performer of the week, while Marie Forbes was named the women’s field performer of the week. Rojé Stona was co-field performer of the week along with Georgia Tech’s Cameron O’Neal. In his first meet as a Tiger, Rhoden shot himself up to the top of Clemson’s all-time 600 leaderboard with an extremely impressive 1:17.81. He led the race from beginning to end and finished approximately 50 meters ahead of his closest competition en route to the fourth-best 600 meter time in the nation this season.  “For Tarees, The 600 is a good indicator of where he should be in his primary event, the 800, and that’s a really good start for him” raved Program Director Mark Elliott. Forbes earned her Performer of the Week honors by launching a 18.91
