Three Rivers Roleo comes to Onalaska

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – The 13th annual Three Rivers Roleo is underway at the great river landing off the Mississippi and Black Rivers in Onalaska. Professional log rollers competed yesterday while amateurs also gave it a try today.
Mor than 30 professional athletes attended the event with five past and present world champions. Event organizers were happy to have the public back in person this year. Last year many events were canceled due to the pandemic-mandated off-season.
“Year three we added the pros and then we just continued to grow. We had five years on Fox Sports. which was amazing for the sport amazing for this area. and now the new thing in 2021 was yesterday with the professional boom running” said Three Rivers Roleo director, Katie Burke.

ONALASKA, Wis. (WXOW) - Three Rivers Roleo, a log rolling and boom running competition, happens at the Great River Landing this weekend.
Katie Burke, Director of Three Rivers Roleo, said this is an event that has been around for 13 years. This year, they have 33 professional athletes competing at Three Rivers Roleo, the largest number in event history. The athletes are coming to Onalaska from five different states. Five current or former world champions are competing. On the women s side, this has been the predictor of the world champion for the last five years. Whoever has won this tournament has gone on to win worlds, said Burke.

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river will return this weekend during the 13th annual Three Rivers Roleo at the Great River Landing off the Mississippi and Black rivers in Onalaska.
Professionals will try to avoid performances that are as easy as falling off a log during competition on Saturday, while the amateurs will test their footing on Sunday.

Both days are free and open to the public; fans should bring lawn chairs or blankets because there is no other seating.
