Caroline Thomasine Lafian

FOWLER - Caroline Thomasine Lafian, age 54, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021 due to a chronic illness. A dear friend and caregiver was by her side. She was born to the late Natalie and Mike Lafian, her devoted parents, on March 4, 1967. She was predeceased by her sister Linda K. Cope of Franklin TN in 2011. She is survived by her sister, Vicki Lafian McDonald (Tom) of Sheldon VT, nephew, Ashley Cope (Merrill) of Thompson Station TN, nephew, Wade McDonald (Jami) of Swanton VT, niece, Marleigh McDonald, of Portsmouth NH, four great-nieces, a great nephew and several cherished first cousins. She also leaves behind her devoted and loving friends and family at her Fowler NY IRA and St Lawrence County ARC.

Spring Hill June Lake development chooses Signature Homes as builder

Nashville Tennessean A Nashville- and Birmingham-based homebuilder will construct the first spate of single-family dwellings in June Lake, the newest mixed-use community in Spring Hill, developers announced Thursday.  Signature Homes will build the community s first 400 detached homes and townhomes in addition to an amenity center on 86.5 acres of the 775-acre project. The mixed-use development described as a gateway to Spring Hill is anchored by a new Interstate 65 interchange, which will connect the city to the major traffic artery at exit 56. A new roadway off of this interchange will be named June Lake Boulevard, development management firm Southeast Venture announced in March. 

Ex-Jack Daniel s master distiller Jeff Arnet to make new whiskey in Tennessee

AP NASHVILLE, Tenn. The former top distiller at Jack Daniel’s announced earlier this week that he and several partners are opening a new whiskey distillery near the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Company Distilling will first open a 4,000-square-foot (3,712-square-meter) tasting room and restaurant in Townsend, Tennessee, former Jack Daniel’s master distiller Jeff Arnett and his partners said. A 20,000-square-foot (1,858-square-meter) main distillery in Alcoa and a tasting room in Thompson Station, closer to Nashville, will follow next year. Arnett is teaming up with former Tennessee Distillers Guild President Kris Tatum; construction businessman Corey Clayton; founder of H. Clark Distillery Heath Clark, and Clayton Homes CEO Kevin Clayton. The initiative is expected to include a $20 million investment and provide 50 to 60 jobs.
