Good news for households on boil water notice in Golden - Kilfeacle

Photo Tipp FM A partial easing of the long-lasting boil water notice in the Golden/Kilfeacle has been confirmed by Irish Water. The notice has been in place since October 31st 2019, with customers without safe drinking water for 557 days. 78 customers will have the notice lifted from today, whilst approximately 75 customers will still be under the notice. Local Councillor Declan Burgess outlines the areas where the notice is to be lifted today. “It’s a partial lift covering a significant part of the area affected so we’ll have from east of Thomastown Cross to the western outskirts of Castle Park, Golden Hills and Springmount on that so I think from talking to many of the residents that they’re thrilled to finally be lifted.”

Some Progress On Kilfeacle-Thomastown Water Issue, According To Cllr Burgess Cllr. Declan Burgess (Image: finegael.ie) Actions to resolve a long-standing boil water notice in the Kilfeacle/Thomastown area of Co. Tipperary took a small step forward yesterday. Irish Water confirmed that the replacement of 4km of water main along the N&$ between Kilfeacle and Thomastown have been approved for capital works. However, it is envisaged that just 1km of cast iron mains will be replaced this year, and no start date have been indicated as of yet. The further 3 km will be replaced in phases over a longer period.

BREAKING: Gardai following a definite line of enquiry in relation to County Limerick collision Reporter: ); GARDAI are following “a definite line of enquiry” in relation to a collision in County Limerick this Thursday morning. Two vehicles, a jeep and a car, were involved in the collision which occurred near Thomastown Cross on the main Kilmallock to Charleville road at approximately 9.10am. “The driver of the car, a male in his 50s, was removed to University Hospital Limerick by ambulance with a suspected broken ankle but that injury has not been confirmed. There were three people travelling in the car,” said a garda spokesperson.
