Newton NJ pool gives residents free passes for 2021

New Jersey Herald NEWTON The Town Council approved the final bills for the renovations and repairs to the town pool which was closed for much of the 2020 season. The pool was closed for repairs until August 2020 when it was opened for a short time. As a result of the closure, the council has voted to give town residents free passes for the 2021 season.  The final pool cost added up to $492,606 after the council approved the last change order on Monday. The town worked with Suburban Consulting Engineers and general contractor, All State Technology. The total includes $403,000 to All State and $39,500 in engineering and design fees to Suburban. As part of the work leading up to the council s go-ahead for the repairs and renovations, the town also paid $26,800 to Surburban for its studies and $23,306 to SESI Consulting Engineers for the testing of groundwater and stability of the pool originally built in Memory Park around 1960.
