The caretaker found Bottino’s body in the reservation’s parking lot around 6:30 p.m., Shah said.
“The fact that he was in the parking lot suggests that he was on his way home to his family,” she said of Bottino, the married father of two children.
An autopsy on Christmas Eve determined Bottino had died from multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma injuries, Shah continued.
“The weight of the evidence in this case is quite strong,” added the prosecutor. She said Massey left a fingerprint on the victim’s phone and the suspect’s own phone was found during a search of the 22-acre reservation.
