hunt is underway, many in the area understandably on edge. trace gallagher, live at the breaking news desk with more. reporter: these shootings happened in side by side counties in mississippi and both of the victims had pulled their cars off to the side of the road before they were shot. the first victim is 74-year-old thomas schlender driving through mississippi on the way to florida to pick up his grandson from college, he was shot and killed inside his truck, 48-year-old laurie casswell was driving home from work at a casino she was found plying on the ground at the back of the car, shot and killed as if she had walked to the back of the car. important to point out, neither one of these vehicles had any kind of mechanical problems or was low on gas. and shell cases were found at both scenes. robbery may be a motive here, because the woman s purse was missing, the man s wallet, also missing, and authorities are now looking into whether or not the killer may be impersonating a poli
